- facts: The client (respondent) found out her boyfriend was cheating on her, and went to his home to confront him. A verbal argument in his doorway was witnessed by the boyfriend's (petitioner) father. She eventually struck her boyfriend in the face and police were called out to the residence. After conducting an investigation the police decided not to arrest the client for battery, but suggested to the boyfriend to file an injunction. He ended up filing a petition for an injunction against dating violence. We discussed the situation with the boyfriend/petitioner.
